Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid confirmed line-ups: Team news and more ahead of La Liga clash



Real Madrid travel to vicious rivals Atletico Madrid on Saturday evening with Zinedine Zidane desperately chasing an emphatic derby victory to quell rumours of Jose Mourinho’s possible return.

Zidane’s side enter in magnificent league form against their rivals, having gone undefeated in their last six meetings, however, Diego Simeone’s side have tasted victory in both the Champions League and Super Cup since. 

Despite questions over his tenure, Zidane’s side remain undefeated this season and currently lead La Liga after 18-year-old Brazilian Rodrygo helped the club to a 2-0 victory against Osasuna.

Atletico are just one point adrift of Real – and five points ahead of Barcelona – after defeating Mallorca by the same scoreline with 19-year-old Joao Felix the juvenile inspiration.

Alvaro Morata will be unavailable to face his former side after receiving two yellow cards within a minute against Mallorca. Thomas Lemar and Sime Vrsaljko are also missing through injury.

Meanwhile, Madrid are still attempting to plug a hole at left-back with Marcelo and Ferland Mendy both injured. Marco Asensio, Brahim Diaz are missing through injury while Luka Modric and Isco await late fitness tests.
