Aston Villa star Jack Grealish 'agrees terms' over Man Utd summer transfer

Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has reportedly already agreed provisional terms with Manchester United over a summer move to Old Trafford.

Grealish has also emerged as a potential target for Manchester City but is believed to favour United as Villa brace themselves for a summer transfer battle for the midfielder.

The 24-year-old, who is almost certain to be called up by England boss Gareth Southgate next month, has been in inspirational form for his boyhood club on their return to the Premier League.

And Grealish has already approved the outline of a deal to join United in the summer, according to a report from Goal.

The report says no formal talks between United and Villa have yet taken place, but that Grealish has been house-hunting in anticipation of the move.

Aston Villa are bracing themselves for huge offers for their captain Jack Grealish

Goal claims the attacking midfielder will sign a long-term contract worth far more than the reported £100,000-per-week deal he currently earns at Villa Park.

Despite discreet enquiries during the January transfer window for Grealish from the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham, there was no way Villa would contemplate selling or the player wanting to jump ship midway through the season.

But Mirror Sport revealed this week that United are poised to prioritise a huge summer bid for Grealish after James Maddison moved closer to penning a new deal at Leicester.

Villa boss Dean Smith and the club’s board are steeling themselves for huge offers for the 24-year-old, who has been at Villa Park since the age of six.

It would then be left to the player whether he wants to uproot from the club he and his family have always supported.

United appear likely to lose Paul Pogba this summer, and Grealish – who has scored seven Premier League goals this season as well as recording five assists – would fill the void left by the Frenchman.

As well as United, it looks like he will have the choice of most of the Premier League’s top sides after proving he has the skills to unlock the best defences.

It is a trait which has also attracted the interest of City boss Guardiola, who will embark on a clear-out of his under-performing stars in the summer.
