Arsenal transfer boost as PSG fans demand Christopher Nkunku is sold to Gunners

Arsenal transfer target Christopher Nkunku missed the decisive penalty as PSG were denied in the French Cup final.

The Ligue 1 giants led 2-0 at the Stade de France after just 21 minutes but Rennes hit back to take the tie to extra-time after a late red card for Kylian Mbappe.

Neither side could find a goal in the added 30 minutes and the tie went to penalties.

Each side scored all five of their spot kicks and Ismael Sarr put Rennes 6-5 up before Nkunku blazed over.

The 21-year-old was heavily linked with Arsenal in January and he remains on Unai Emery’s radar.

And PSG fans made their feelings clear towards the youngster after his woeful penalty.

One Twitter user posted: “Arsenal can have Nkunku for free if they want” while a fellow PSG fan stated: “Send him to Arsenal.”

Another joked Arsenal wouldn’t regret signing the 21-year-old after his miss.

One supporter added: “To think Nkunku could have been sold to Arsenal this January but nah, he just HAD to be around to f*** this up.”

Rennes’ players celebrate with the trophy

Dani Alves and Neymar gave PSG a two-goal lead but Presnel Kimpembe’s own goal and Mexer’s header either side of the interval levelled the match at 2-2 and led to extra time.

France star Mbappe saw red just before the end for an awful challenge.

The shoot-out went to sudden death after Neymar scored PSG’s fifth penalty, but Nkunku’s terrible effort cleared the crossbar by a yard and left the underdogs celebrating.
