Arsenal on alert after unhappy transfer target hit with fine by AC Milan

Arsenal target Franck Kessie is reportedly unhappy after being hit with a fine by AC Milan following a furious bust-up with teammate Lucas Biglia during Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to Inter.

The pair rowed on the substitutes bench as Milan lost out to their arch rivals at the San Siro, and the Ivorian has not responded well to being lumbered with the punishment.

The incident occurred when Kessie was substituted during the defeat to their great rivals last Sunday night.

Biglia made a remark to Kessie, who reacted furiously and had to be physically restrained by teammates from confronting the Argentine.

According to Tuttomercato , the spat between player and club has alerted the Gunners to Kessie’s possible availability, with rumours already having circulated that Unai Emery could come in for the midfielder in the summer.

Milan would want around €40million for the Ivory Coast international, although Tottenham and Paris St. Germain are also keeping track of the 22 year-old which could in turn start a bidding war for the player thus driving his price up further.

Kessie was the subject of repeated racial taunting from Inter fans during Sunday’s derby, an ordeal which likely contributed to his fraught state of mind when confronting Biglia.

Inter, who were technically the ‘home’ team despite the two sides sharing the San Siro, have been hit with a suspended stadium closure affecting part of the ground after league officials found fans guilty of abusing Kessie.

The suspended sentence will apply for 12 months, and it is the second time this season that Inter fans have been punished for racial taunting of opposition players.

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly was the target when Inter met Napoli on Boxing Day, resulting in two games being played in an empty stadium in January.
