Brazilian outlet GloboEsporte have reported that the Brazilian Serie A club are aware of the Gunners’ interest, as well as that of Wolves.

Unai Emery is desperate to bolster his defensive line with shaky Mustafi convincing nobody he is the future of the North London club’s defence.

Wolves impressed in their first season back in the Premier League last season and hope Kannemann could be another shrewd signing in Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.

Kannemann has been at Gremio since 2016, playing at Mexican side Atlas after a stint at San Lorenzo.

YES WE KANN

But the Premier League can be a different beast for defenders with no experience of the pace and intensity, so there would no doubt be a bedding-in period for the five-cap Argentina international.

He was in the Argentina squad for their March friendlies against Venezuela and Morocco, but did not make the final cut for Lionel Scaloni’s squad.

Argentina were knocked out of the competition after being beaten 2-0 by Brazil in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, according to reports, Arsenal are on red alert after Real Madrid ace Marcelo told the club he is ready to leave.

Mustafi has been on holiday in Greece, where he bizarrely attempted to impress fans by carrying a rock underwater and run.
