  • Over the weekend, a Twitter user spotted the earbuds at a Walmart in New York
  • The image shows the earbuds in three different colors – red, white and black
  • Apple announced Monday the earbuds will be available online this Wednesday 

Apple’s rumored Powerbeats 4 earbuds have been spotted at a Walmart in New York before the tech giant made an official announcement.

A photo emerged on Twitter over the weekend showing the earbuds stocked on the shelves with a price tag of $149 and in three different colors – red, white and black.

The Cupertino company officially unveiled the headphones Monday, which will be available on Apple.com starting Wednesday.

Although cheaper than its predecessor, Powerbeats 4 is packed with longer battery life and provides more than five hours of playback that the AirPod Pros.

Hints about Powerbeats 4 began circling the web in January and icons of what appeared to be the new device also made an appearance in iOS.

Apple also filled the earbuds with the FCC last month and then another set of images claiming to be the headphones surfaced this month.

And then on March 14th, Twitter user by the name of ‘eddie wap‘ stumbled upon new Powerbeats 4 at a Walmart in Rochester, New York,

‘Did the new Beats Powerbeats drop without announcement? These were found at my local Walmart in Rochester NY,’ reads the tweet.

Early Monday, Apple made the official announcement of the new earbuds, 9to5Mac reported. The set is designed to be a cheaper alternative to the Powerbeats Pro, as they cost $50 less than the Powerbeats 3

However, the major difference between the new earbuds and the Pro is that the Powerbeats 4 are not entirely wireless.

Apple has moved the cable to behind the ears, instead of the front, so it does not get in the wearer’s way.

The earbuds are said to have 15 hours of battery life, which is three more than the Powerbeats 3, and is designed with Apple’s H1 chip.

The chip gives users the ability to access Siri via a voice command instead of having to push a button.

They are also compatible with Apple’s new Audio Sharing feature in iOS 13, which lets you pair two sets of Beats or Apple headphones to the same iPhone so you and a friend can listen to the same playlist.
