Anthony Joshua makes his US debut this weekend with a title fight against Andy Ruiz Jr at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York.

British boxer Joshua is the reigning WBA Super, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion and he puts his belts on the line against Ruiz Jr.

Joshua last fought in September 2018 and he was meant to face American Jarrell Miller in New York. However, Miller was ruled out after failing drugs tests in April and Ruiz Jr stepped in as the challenger.

In his 33-fight career Mexican Ruiz Jr has lost only once, that was to Joseph Parker by majority decision in 2016. Undefeated Joshua has a 100% winning record from his 22 fights, with 21 coming by knockout.

Also on the bill in New York is a WBC, IBF, WBA, WBO lightweight title fight between Katie Taylor and Delfine Persoon.

The New York fight night will be shown live in the UK on Sky Sports Box Office (£19.95). The event broadcast begins at 10pm (BST) on Saturday 1 June for UK viewers.

BBC Radio 5 live will broadcast the title bout with coverage starting at 2am on Sunday.

What time will Joshua vs. Ruiz Jr start for UK viewers?

With time difference between the US and UK the title fight will happen in the early hours of Sunday 2 June for viewers in Britain. Timings will depend on the undercard bouts in New York.

The BBC and the Daily Star report that Joshua vs. Ruiz Jr is expected to begin at around 3am (BST). The Sun and The Daily Telegraph predict a 4am UK start time.
