The Love Island star, who is set to appear on the upcoming Celebs Go Dating series, revealed her mum, nanna and auntie all suffered from early menopause and wanted to take the necessary precautions in case she didn’t meet a suitable partner.
The 27-year-old addressed the fact she is “unlucky in dating”, and was crippled with the fear of possibly “never having children”.
Speaking to the Loose Women panelists, the blonde bombshell explained her parents would help her both mentally and financially if she wanted to raise a child by herself once she got to 35.
“I think it all started for me when I because unlucky in dating.
“My mum, nan and aunt had all their kids by they were 25, and they went through the menopause when they hit 42.”
Discussing the egg-freezing process, Amy revealed she went for a fertility MOT in order for doctors to gauge her egg count.
“I was told it was a blood test and a scan, and then they told me to take my pants off! At least get to know me first,” she joked.
When questioned why she wanted to freeze her eggs at 27, she replied: “My eggs are looking really good at the moment. I always have regular periods, and I’ve always wanted to do it.
“My eggs are better quality now.”
Amy went on to add she’ll be open to using a sperm donor in order to get pregnant if she hasn’t met anyone.
Panelist Linda Robson asked: “Why do you think you haven’t met someone?
“I’m either too much, or not enough,” she replied.
“But I’m freezing my eggs in March. I’m doing it in March.”
