Adele and Konecki started dating in the summer of 2011, but the couple kept their relationship out of the limelight for the most part.

They announced in June 2012 that they were expecting their first child, with their son Angelo born in October 2012.

While they never formally announced their marriage, speculation surfaced that they had been secretly married in 2016, when they were spotted wearing matching rings.

Adele confirmed the news that they had tied the knot the 59th Grammy Awards in February 2017, when she called Konecki her husband in her acceptance speech.

But in April, the singer’s reps released a statement to the Associated Press, where they announced their separation after seven years together.

‘Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.’

The couple were last spotted together in January of this year, when there were seen heading backstage at an Elton John concert at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

It was revealed last year that Adele was working on her fourth studio album, which is expected to be released in December 2019.

While celebrating her 31st birthday in May, she released a cryptic message that ended with, ’30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you,’ which most believed was an indication the album was coming soon.

Adele released her debut album 19 in 2008, followed by 21 in 2011 and 25 in 2015, which each spawned massive tours.

A source told People last week that the singer is, ‘definitely getting ready both mentally and physically to promote new music.’

‘It seems it will happen later this year. She talks about last year as a very difficult year, and she’s said in the past that creating new music is almost like therapy. You can tell that she is ready to share with her fans,’ the source added.

Despite keeping their romance widely private, Adele did address their romance in public at the 2017 Grammys, where she confirmed they had married by acknowledging Simon as her husband.

After she collected the Album of the Year gong, she said: ‘Grammys, I appreciate it. The Academy, I love you. My manager, my husband and my son you’re the only reason I do it.’

Following Angelo’s birth, Adele revealed she had suffered from postpartum depression.

She said: ‘My knowledge of postpartum – or post-natal, as we call it in England – is that you don’t want to be with your child; you’re worried you might hurt your child; you’re worried you weren’t doing a good job.

‘But I was obsessed with my child. I felt very inadequate; I felt like I’d made the worst decision of my life … It can come in many different forms.’
