Aaron Carter has reportedly bought a handgun, an assault rifle and a box of ammunition from a pawn shop
The 31-year-old singer purchased the firearms as well as 300 bullets in Lancaster, California on Tuesday, according to TMZ.
It comes just weeks after he inherited his late father’s weapon collection, which he claims totals 500 guns.
Aaron – who was recently the victim of a suicide prank – got his gun licence two weeks ago and immediately bought a 9mm handgun and two assault rifles.
He took to Instagram to show off his latest purchases on Tuesday and explained the safety checks he went through to get them.
He wrote: ‘Safety course completed, safety completed ten day cool down period passed … background check cleared, safety demonstrations done knocked out those demos easily.’
Aaron, whose father Robert died in 2017 from a reported heat attack, added: ‘Miss my dad everyday.’
He also posted a snap of his new firearm safety certificate on Twitter earlier in the day, writing: ‘Just passed the safety course test and completed my background check with the @ALT_DOJ
‘Never been charged with any crimes, I’ve never been 5150’d even though my own family tried to do that to destroy me for some odd reason but I’m in the clear with the @FBI.’
After facing backlash for buying guns, the singer – who split with his girlfriend last month – insisted in another post that he doesn’t ‘condone violence’.
Carter added that his heart ‘breaks’ for Midland Odessa, Texas, where a gunman killed seven people injured 25 others last Saturday.
‘I don’t condone violence. My heart breaks for midland Odessa Texas I am a very safe person & learned safety first. #SecondAmendment #Constitutions,’ he penned.
