The first full length trailer for A Quiet Place Part II arrived on New Year’s Day, and it begins with a stunning look at the first day the fearsome creatures began attacking humans.
In a jaw-dropping opening sequence, Emily Blunt is driving her kids into town when one of the monsters lands on the car in front of them, crushing it.

Evelyn Abbott (Blunt) speeds away as terrified people scatter.
There’s then a brief nod to John Krasinski’s ill-fated character Lee, when one of his kids screams ‘There’s dad!’
However before Evelyn can find her husband, a runaway bus bears down on their car, forcing her to reverse at speed.
The sequence ends when we see one of the monsters begin to crawl out of the bus’ shattered windshield.

Evelyn carries her newborn baby through what looks like an industrial area while daughter Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and son Marcus (Noah Jupe) walk behind her.
The family of four are silent so as not to attract the attention of any monsters in the area – however Evelyn stumbles across a trip wire attached to a bundle of empty bottles.
The noise they make attracts a nearby monster and the family run for their lives.

Moments later, Blunt is grabbed by another human survivor (played by Batman Begins star Cillian Murphy).
He warns her to be quiet, however his intentions toward her and her family are unknown.
Once the monsters are gone, Murphy’s character tells them, ‘I don’t know why you came up here. There’s nothing left.’
‘There are people out there worth saving,’ replies Evelyn.
