A Place in the Sun presenter Laura Hamilton opens up on surprising new move away from show

A Place In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton, 37, is currently learning how to fly a plane in a bid to gain a private pilot’s license. The mother-of-two said she will fit her lessons around her duties on the Channel 4 show and her family life.

Explaining further, she said: “My dad has had a PPL since I was a child and I’ve always wanted to do it since my teenage years.

“I’ve got my first trial lesson booked in at Redhill [Aerodrome].”

She added: “You have to fly for 40 hours to get a PPL. I’ll be fitting it in around the children and work.”

Laura gave her 61,000 followers an insight into her training on Instagram earlier this month.

She told OK! Magazine: “I keep notes on my phone to remind myself to do things and have a list for everything.

“As soon as something pops into my brain, I have to write it down, otherwise I will lose control.

“It’s funny because people said to me that having kids would make me relax but I never stop.”

The Channel 4 star has two children, Rocco, six, and four-year-old Tahlia, with her husband Alex Goward.

Also a part of her busy schedule, Laura and her husband run their own coffee shop.

She went on to joke about what annoys her husband about her hectic lifestyle, adding: “He’ll say, ‘Laura, you can never switch off or sit still’.

“I’m like, ‘Well that’s because I have all of this stuff to do and if I don’t do it, it won’t get done’.”

A Place In The Sun continues today at 3pm on Channel 4.
