828 more Covid deaths and 18,262 new infections, latest figures show


further 828 people have died within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test while 18,262 more infections have been recorded.

The latest figures mean that 112,092 people have now died from the virus in the UK.

Last week 133,747 people had a confirmed positive test result representing a decrease of 25.1 per cent compared to the previous 7 days.

It brings the total number of cases in the UK to 3,929,835.

Government data up to February 5 shows a rise of 494,163 vaccine jabs taking total to 11,975,267 in the UK.

Worcestershire County Council began testing in the WR3 postcode after cases of the variant with no links to international travel were identified.
