828 more Covid deaths and 18,262 new infections, latest figures show

further 828 people have died within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test while 18,262 more infections have been recorded.

The latest figures mean that 112,092 people have now died from the virus in the UK.

Last week 133,747 people had a confirmed positive test result representing a decrease of 25.1 per cent compared to the previous 7 days.

It brings the total number of cases in the UK to 3,929,835.

Government data up to February 5 shows a rise of 494,163 vaccine jabs taking total to 11,975,267 in the UK.
