Does anyone else feel like January lasted, like… two years? No? Just me? It. Dragged. In all fairness, it always does. I’m not sure whether it’s the lack of money or rubbish weather that does it, but New Year’s Eve feels like a lifetime ago.

But hoorah! February is finally here. With the end of January came payday, and with payday came the ultimate excuse to buy everything you’ve been lusting over for six weeks and didn’t have the money to buy. What a time to be alive!

When the shopping bug hits like it has this week (I’m feeling seriously spendy), quantity is more of a priority than quality is. No big splurges: just a few pick-ups from the high street that’ll give your wardrobe the refresh it has been craving.

I’ve been scouring the likes of Topshop, & Other Stories, Zara and Nasty Gal (all firm favourites) and adding everything I love to an end-of-January wishlist. The result? A compilation of everything I’d be buying if I didn’t have to pay my rent. Sadly, I’ll have to whittle it down to a handful of treats.

Leather is a recurring theme among my favourite picks, with leather shirts and leather trousers inducing the fastest heart rate. I’m also really digging checks – there’s a killer red midi dress thrown in the mix as well as one too many checked tops (that’ll take you from office to bar seamlessly). I might also give my knitwear drawer a bit of an update – the weather isn’t getting any warmer just yet, and that roll neck jumper from New Look is a bargain I just can’t resist.

Oh, and check out my favourite lingerie picks in the run up to Valentine’s Day, as well as the activewear that’ll keep the work-out-bug alive well into spring.

So go on: treat yourself to one (or a few) of these insane pieces. The end of January spend band lift only comes around once a year, after all.
