I love an eyeshadow palette that offers both a variety of shades and textures, so was pleased to discover Huda’s latest launch has both velvety matte shadows and shimmering pigments. I tried the Rose palette, which is full of wearable and buildable shades, and layered a dusty rose shade (which is perfect for every day) with a holographic shimmery pink (great for a night out).

I normally stick to neutrals – bronzes, golds and caramels are my safe zone. But I was pleasantly surprised by this purple from the top centre of the Lilac palette. With a touch of pink blusher and nude lips, it can pass as quite wearable. In fact, I received quite a few compliments on the day I wore it encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone more often.

I’m not one to stray from colour, but like everyone else, I have my own beauty uniform, one that tends to lean towards pink and orange hues. So I dipped into the mint shades for a bit of a change and actually fell in love. This palette is seriously pigmented and applying the glitter shade really made my inner corners pop. This colour is surprisingly wearable and doesn’t wash out my very pale skin tone – I’d definitely wear this look again.

The colour range of this palette surprised me, ranging from neutral golden and shimmery tones to bright pops of blue colour. I tried the ‘safer’ colours that I would usually steer towards, the golden brown tones. I really liked the soft powder texture of the pallete, this made it easier to layer up different shades effectively to make more of an impact. Whether you play safe or go for bolder colours your eyes are bound to pop with this pallette.

The pastel tones in this palette were a lovely change as I usually stick to neutral tones. I was able to sheer the product out and build as I went along. The ‘lilac’ palette I chose also sat very well against my skin tone and of course, I had to add a touch of glitter as it’s perfect for every occasion!
