Usually, when you hear that there’s an epic waiting list for something, it’s a new Huda eye shadow palette or a Rihanna concert. Well, funnily enough, we’ve just heard that there are 38,000 people (!!!) currently on the waiting list to buy themselves this new, high-tech toothbrush.
Yep, the New Oral B Genius X is going to be available in the UK in July 2019 and it’s in seriously hot demand.
So, what makes this particular toothbrush so special?
It’s kinda revolutionary, tbh. It uses Artificial Intelligence to monitor the way you brush your teeth and give you advice so you can get the best clean of your life, every time.
According to research by Oral B, 80 per cent of Brits are not cleaning their teeth properly every time. Apparently, most of us are missing certain parts of our mouths, which could lead to serious dental issues in the future. This smart toothbrush uses AI technology to track where we’re brushing so it can give us personalised feedback via the Oral B app, to help us improve our brushing technique.
So how does the AI work? Well, if you can be bothered, you have to download an app and then sync your GENIUS X handle via Bluetooth to activate the artificial intelligence feature.
Then you just brush away, choosing from one of six brushing modes suited to your dental needs. This is where it gets clever: you can then use the app with Artificial Intelligence to track where you are brushing in your mouth (and any spots you’ve missed, too) and view your personalised feedback.
You can even check your score – after brushing, the app will score you out of 100% taking account of how long you brush for, whether you press too hard and how effective your overall brushing coverage is. It’s like an actual dentistry exam! Over time, you can work to improve your score so you can achieve your best oral care results on a daily basis.
