Zooey Deschanel has shared a spooky yet adorable photo with Property Brothers star Jonathan Scott as they became Instagram official on a Halloween themed date night.
The two went on a double date with Jonathan’s twin brother Drew Scott and wife Linda Phan to the Halloween Horror Nights event at the Universal Studios in Los Angeles.
Zooey shared a snap of her and Jonathan to the social media app, as they appeared in front of a group of people dressed up as skeletons and carrying chainsaws, as she jumps into Jonathan’s arms.
‘Still processing how scared I was of these people dressed in spooky masks,’ she captioned the post.
Jonathan later took the opportunity to reshare the photo to his own Instagram page, as he joked that ‘nobody got punched’ during the date.
‘So much fun last night,’ he wrote. ‘That high pitched scream totally wasn’t me! Also happy to report… nobody got punched!’
Zooey and Jonathan first met while filming James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, and the two were later seen holding hands in September.
A source previously told E! News that Zooey was ‘excited’ about Jonathan, and the two ‘liked each other a lot’.
‘They like each other a lot. They are still in the getting to know each other phase,’ the source stated.
‘She seems excited about him and that it’s new and fun. They have a lot in common and it has surprised her that they have so many things to talk about.’
It comes following the actress’ split from husband Jacob Pechenik, with the two announcing their separation in September after four years of marriage.
‘After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided to we are better off as friends, business partners and co-parents rather than life parents,’ the former couple said in a joint statement at the time.
‘We remain committed to our business, our values and most of all our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy at our time.’
Together, they share two children: Elise, four, and two-year-old Charlie.
Prior to Jacob, Zooey was previously married to Ben Gibbard between 2009-2012.
