Zinedine Zidane admits he is ‘worried’ about the injury Eden Hazard sustained in Real Madrid’s Champions League draw with Paris Saint-Germain.
Former Chelsea star Hazard hobbled off with 20 minutes remaining at the Bernabeu after he was fouled by Belgium team-mate Thomas Meunier.
Hazard was replaced by Wales international Gareth Bale, who hit the post with a superb free-kick with virtually the last kick of the game.
Real Madrid led 2-0 on Tuesday night thanks to a Karim Benzema brace but PSG battled back through Kylian Mbappe and Pablo Sarabia.
Asked about Hazard’s injury after the entertaining Champions League clash, Zidane said: ‘There is a little worry over Hazard at full time.
‘He was in pain at full time, and we think it is more than an impact injury.
‘It is a sprained ankle, but hopefully not a severe sprain. We will know more in the coming days.’
Hazard has endured an underwhelming start to his Real Madrid career following a stunning move from Chelsea in the summer, scoring just once in 13 appearances.
As a result of the draw on Tuesday, French champions PSG will top Group A but Real Madrid had also already secured their qualification before the fixture.
