Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 secrets cracked, major BoTW 2 changes revealed?

Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 fans have been left convinced they’ve discovered secret details about BoTW 2 hidden in plain sight.

Breath of the Wild 2 is one of the most highly anticipated Nintendo Switch games, with the new Zelda getting a surprise reveal at the end of the E3 Direct.

A brief teaser trailer for Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 showed Link and Zelda exploring a Hyrule looking worse for wear.

The trailer has a distinctly dark tone which suggests BoTW 2 could be the Majora’s Mask to BoTW’s Ocarina of Time.

And as the wait for more official Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 news rumbles on fans have been taking a fine tooth comb to the BoTW 2 reveal trailer.

Fans have been analysing closely the Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 trailer and trying to uncover more details about it.

And a number of fan theories could shine a light on secret Breath of the Wild 2 details that were hidden away in the Zelda trailer.

The Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 fan theories were all rounded up in a video posted online by the Nerdist.

One of the most eye-catching theories surrounds what could be a big change to the character of Link.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted how, for a brief moment in the Breath of the Wild 2 trailer, Link’s arm is seen as lightning up and glowing.

Another moment in the trailer shows a glowing arm appearing to pull power from a mummified corpse that Zelda and Link find.

The theory is that in Breath of the Wild 2 Link could be getting a mystical arm that can transform into weapons such as the hook shot or bow.

This all ties into a previous concept art for the original Breath of the Wild that was showcased by Nintendo at the Game Developers Conference 2017.

The concept had Link losing his arm but then getting a piece of tech which allowed him to morph it into anything he wanted such as a bow or hammer.

Fans have been left convinced this lost concept could be making it into BoTW 2, and details hinting this would happen were hidden in the teaser trailer.

Other fan theories for Breath of the Wild 2 include Zelda being a playable character and the reveal that Ganon was the original hero of Hyrule.

The theory that lost Breath of the Wild ideas could make it into BoTW 2 does hold weight.

Previously producer Eiji Aonuma revealed that devs decided to make a Breath of the Wild sequel as they had too many DLC ideas.

Aonuma-san said: “Initially we were thinking only of DLC ideas, but we had too many and we simply said: ‘This is a lot, we better make a new game and start from scratch’.”
