Zayn Malik releases new single Vibez ahead of dropping album Nobody Is Listening

Zayn Malik has blessed us with his new single Vibez, while also sharing his album Nobody Is Listening will be released next week.

The former One Direction star previously teased the new release yesterday, hyping up our levels of sweaty anticipation to 11.

Zayn shared a preview of the song on Instagram this morning and wrote: ‘Vibez out now! Nobody is Listening – Jan 15th!(sic)’

Vibez, a slow and sultry R&B track, is already clocking up the listens on YouTube and has Malik in a loving mood while serenading a romantic partner.

In the track, the singer, who shares a baby with partner Gigi Hadid, sings: ‘Don’t keep me waiting / I’ve been waiting all night to get closer / And you already know I got it for you.

‘You know the vibes, know the vibes, put it on ya / If it movin’ too fast, we go slower / Baby, lose it from me, mediocre / You got the vibes, got the vibes.’

He previously teased an announcement on Thursday when he posted a short clip of an empty theatre, writing ‘Tomorrow’ over the curtain.

Fans had previously speculated Zayn was about to drop some tunes – or a live-stream concert – after he shared an image of the theatre to social media late last year.

It is the second track released so far from the ironically named Nobody Is Listening (because many, many people are listening, Zayn), after the arrival of Better in September, a week after he welcomed his daughter – whose name is yet to be publicly revealed – with model Gigi.

Zayn will release his third solo record next week, the follow-up to 2018’s Icarus Falls.

Malik departed One Direction in 2015 and released his acclaimed debut album Mind Of Mine the following year. It reached number one in both the UK and US.

Icarus Falls peaked at 77 in the UK album charts.

The Pillow Talk singer has previously admitted his March 2015 departure from One Direction had been a long time coming because their music wasn’t to his own tastes.

He has said: ‘From like the first year really, I never really wanted to be there in the band.

‘I just gave it a go because it was there at the time and then when I realised the direction we were going in with the music, I instantly realised it wasn’t for me because I realised I couldn’t put any input in; I couldn’t give my opinion on this or that because it didn’t fit the grain of what we were as a band or what we represented.

‘So that’s when it became frustrating for me, that’s when I had to be like, I’ve got to start thinking about myself.’
