YouTube stars blasted for making their six-year-old daughter cry by pretending to give away her dog – and filming her traumatised reaction

BLOGGER parents have come under fire for pranking their six-year-old daughter to the point where she cried.

Cole and Savannah LaBrant, from California, regularly post vlogs of their family life on YouTube, and uploaded a video entitled ‘We Have To Give Our Puppy Away… Saying Goodbye Forever’.

Racking up more than two million views, the clip was posted on April 1 and was actually an April Fool’s Day prank.

But viewers have claimed the pair took the joke too far after six-year-old Everleigh, Savannah’s daughter from a previous relationship, was distraught.

The 14-minute video starts off as a regular post, but halfway through sad music begins to play and Cole, 22, tells the camera they have “sad news” to share.

Everleigh is lying face down on the sofa, clearly upset, but Cole makes her sit up and talk to the camera and “tell the vlog” what has just happened.

But she’s too upset, so Savannah, 26, who is holding the couple’s three-month-old daughter, Posie, begins to explain why they have to give their dog, Carl, away.

Clutching Carl, Everleigh wipes tears from her eyes as Savannah says there are “a few reasons why we’re doing what we’re doing.

“Basically we’re giving Carl away to somebody else, because we feel we can’t take good enough care of him at our house.”

She claims they’re always out or filming, and “just busy doing stuff”.

The mum continues to list reasons, saying: “Second he poops and pees all over our house all the time.

“We feel bad, we feel he needs someone who can take him outside more often.

“Just feel like there’s a better home for him right now.”

And she feels he’ll get lost at their new house, which has a two-acre garden.

She acknowledges “Everleigh is really sad”, and Cole cruelly adds: “We’re going to let her give him away to whoever she wants”.

And her asks he if she will miss him, to which she nods through tears while holding Carl.

Cole then adds: “The last thing we wanted to tell you, is tomorrow is April Fool’s. We’re keeping Carl!”

The pair then begin to laugh as Everleigh breaks own.

Cole even asks if they went “too far”, saying “I didn’t think she would fall for it”.

He says: “I thought she’s not even going to fall for that, Everleigh is not gullible at all, we’re always tricking each other, and we’ve been April Fooling each other all day long.

“So when I told her, she started crying, I’m like, she believes it, she buried her head in the pillow and I’m like is she for real or is she faking it?”

But the couple, who have millions of followers, have received a wave of backlash over the video, which has comments turned off.

Raging against the couple, one person said: “If you prank your child to the point of CRYING, you are a bad person.”

Another wrote: “This is genuinely cruel and I’m f**** furious over it.

“Honesty for me it’s further proof that the genre of “vlogging” is inherently exploitative and thrives on b******like this.”

A third said: “Also it’s not a laughing matter at all @ savannah and Cole. Ya’ll are the most disgusting humans I have ever seen.”

And this person wrote: “I don’t get angry at much online, but this crosses the line.

“What kind of sick parent tell their (5-6 year old) kid they’re giving away the dog as an April fools prank, let alone posts it online for millions of the Internet to see?”

Due to the backlash the couple have been forced to apologise, uploading another video to YouTube called ‘Addressing All The Hate We’ve Received’.

They revealed they’ve received death threats over the prank, admitting they “made a mistake”.

They said: “We do apologise for our misjudgement. We will be better.”

Meanwhile this mum was mortified after her son called her a c*** in his Mother’s Day card.

And this mum caused a stir after she begged women to stop wearing leggings.

While this mum was moved to tears after her 13-year-old son bought her a car.
