YouTube star Wengie has her own line at Target


The rise of Wengie: She used to be an accountant at a start up… and now Australia’s biggest YouTuber turned K-Pop singer has her own line at Target

Wengie – whose real name is Wendy Ayche – is one of the biggest stars on YouTube with over 18.5M subscribers. And her fame her only grown as she has moved into the K-pop world.  

Now the 33-year-old Chinese Australian beauty has shared exclusively with DailyMail.com that is releasing her toy line of products named WHIMSICAL BY WENGIE, that will be sold at Target throughout their 1,800 stores nationwide.

The toys, aimed at her loyal fanbase include, Body Art, Glitter Lava Lamp, Unicorn Hair Kit and a Scented Slime 4-pack.

The launch comes just after Wengie’s music releases skyrocketed to the top of the charts.

She has eight singles she released in a period of just 12 months. 

Wengie’s most recent collaboration with Filipino pop star Iñigo Pascual Mr. Nice Guy (currently over 3.5 million views) was #1 on two separate charts in the Philippines in June 2019 while speaking on a K-pop panel at MIDEM conference in Cannes, France.

She also spoke on another K-pop panel on July 11 at RISE technology conference in Hong Kong.

Wengie was a former accountant and head of digital marketing at a start-up before leaving her comfortable salaried career to pursue her dream of becoming a pop star and personality. 

She now has her own media company, employees, studio, and releases up to 17 videos of content on a variety of subjects on her YouTube channels ranging from prank videos to kid-friendly content, plus being a recording artist making music videos with choreography.

The superstar has over 18.5 million YouTube subscribers, 25 million combined social media reach and accumulated over 1.3 billion views on her YouTube channels to date. 

She is also the voice of the 4th Powerpuff Girl on Cartoon Network.
