Your kids will love Chester’s Ice Cream Farm and it’s perfect for the sunny Bank Holiday weekend

IF you’re looking for somewhere fun to take your kids this weekend, Chester’s Ice Cream Farm could be the perfect family-friendly theme park.

And even better, the family-run attraction is free to enter.

The attraction in Tattenhall, Chester, is one of the most visited free to enter attractions in the UK.

The family who owns it transformed the business from a struggling dairy farm to a popular theme park in the last few years after a cut in milk subsidies.

After a £5m redevelopment in 2014 – from selling off its dairy herd – it became the world’s largest ice cream parlour and Europe’s largest indoor sand and water play area.

Tom and Margaret Fell, and their two sons Jonathan and Graeme, also started using social media to promote their business, achieving over 96,000 ‘likes’ on Facebook and 9,000 Twitter followers.

Rides and attractions at the Ice Cream Farm now include a giant ice cream tree that shoots out “snow”, a soft-play area just for toddlers, and the Strawberry Falls crazy golf course, decorated with giant sand castles and oversized candy canes.

There’s also a quad bike track and a petting zoo.

While admission to the park is free, individual rides cost from £1 to £4.50.

You can also buy a Play Pass from £20, that gives you five plays at £4 each.

The Guinness World Records recognised the park’s 10,000 sq ft ice cream parlour, which serves more than 50 different flavours, as the biggest in the world in 2016.
