Your chance to quiz the Labour leadership hopefuls in Mirror hosted hustings


Mirror readers will have the chance to quiz the Labour leadership contenders at a special hustings.

The Mirror is hosting the event in Dudley on Sunday 8 March.

You can hear the three candidates – Lisa Nandy, Keir Starmer and Rebecca Long-Bailey – set out why they want to be leader and then ask them questions.

Readers will also be able to hear from the five candidates for the deputy leadership: Angela Rayner, Rosena Allin-Khan, Ian Murray, Dawn Butler and Richard Burgon.

The event will be chaired by Daily Mirror editor Alison Phillips and we have 350 free tickets for Mirror readers.

The leadership hustings will take place at 11.30am and the deputy leadership one at 2pm in Dudley Town Hall.

Readers can also quiz the deputy leadership candidates Richard Burgon, Angela Rayner, Rosena Allin Khan, Dawn Butler and Ian Murray

Dudley used to be a Labour stronghold but the town’s two constituencies fell to the Conservatives in December’s general election .

This will be an opportunity for the candidates to explain how they can win back these seats, what they will do to reconnect with former Labour voters and how they can help towns such as Dudley flourish.

Alison Phillips said: “We are delighted to be hosting these hustings and for the Mirror to be at the heart of the debate about Labour’s future.

“This is a great opportunity for Mirror readers to hear first hand from the leadership and deputy leadership contenders and to ask them the questions they want answered.”

Please note this event was originally scheduled for Sunday 9 February but was postponed because of the sad death of Keir Starmer’s mother-in-law.
