Young Thug has been accused of transphobia after intentionally misgendering Dwyane Wade’s daughter.

Last week, retired NBA star Dwyane – who is married to actress Gabrielle Union – proudly confirmed the news that Zaya, who was born Zion, now identifies as female.

Dwyane and Gabrielle’s celebrity friends and fans surrounded Zaya with love and support but Young Thug and fellow rapper Boosie Badazz criticised the 12-year-old.

Young Thug reportedly wrote in a now-deleted tweet: ‘All I wanna say to Dwade’s son is: ‘God don’t make mistakes.

‘But, hey, live your true self.’

He later seemed to backtrack and then tweeted: ‘You’re gods best Creation.’

Young Thug’s comments come as a surprise to many as he has previously stated that he doesn’t believe in gender and has been seen wearing dresses, skirts and heels.

Boosie Badazz shared his thoughts on Zaya in an Instagram video, which he has not removed, and says: ‘I gotta say something about this s**t, bro – Dwyane Wade, you gone too f***ing far, dawg.

‘That is a male. A 12-year-old. At 12, they don’t even know what they next meal gon’ be.’

The rapper continued: ‘Don’t cut his d*** off, bruh. Like, bruh, for real, if he gon’ be gay, let him be gay. But don’t cut his d**k off, bruh. Don’t – and dress him as a woman, dawg. He’s 12-years-old…

‘He hasn’t made his final decisions yet. Don’t cut his f***ing dick off, Dwyane Wade, bruh. You f***ing trippin’, dawg.’

Dwyane has not responded to the comments.

During an interview with Ellen DeGeneres earlier this month, Dwyane recalled the moment Zaya told him and Gabrielle that she wanted to be referred to as female.

The 38-year-old said: ‘Once Zaya, our 12-year-old, came home… first, Zion. I don’t know if everyone knows, originally named Zion. Zion, born as a boy, came home and said, “Hey, so I want to talk to you guys. I think going forward, I’m ready to live my truth. And I want to be referenced as she and her. I’d love for you guys to call me Zaya”.’

The ex Miami Heat player revealed: ‘Once Zion came home and said “call me Zaya” and was ready to take on this, I looked at her and said, “You are a leader. It’s our opportunity to allow you to be a voice”. Right now it’s through us, because she’s 12 years old, but eventually it will be through her.’
