Young boy allegedly shoots policeman dad over confiscated video games – Yahoo News


A police officer has allegedly been shot in the buttocks by his 11-year-old son after taking away his video games.

Matt Makowski was allegedly shot in his home in Granger in the US state of Indiana on February 22, WSBT22 reports, and the circumstances that led up to the alleged shooting have emerged as the son is charged with attempted murder.

WSBT22 reports the son had allegedly planned the incident that day at school, and court documents obtained by the television station said he was angry because his father had taken away his video games.

The court documents said the 11-year-old went to his dad’s police car outside the home three times to look for a firearm.

The documents state once he found it, the boy took the gun to his parents’ room and waited about 10 minutes until his dad was facing away from the door.

WSBT22 reports after the shooting Mr Makowski’s wife locked the bedroom door and called police after she spotted her son walking up the stairs holding the officer’s taser and a BB gun.

According to the court documents, the boy said there would be a “part 2” if he didn’t get a PlayStation, Xbox and computer.

Mr Makowski was rushed to hospital and is “steadily improving” and the boy will face court next month.
