It’s been a long year of staring at the same four walls through lockdown – and now we’re all keen to get away.

But with prices soaring for UK-based accommodation, lots of trips soon add up.

So if you fancy a summer of all expenses paid stays plus a £2,000 salary, this could be the job for you.

Point A Hotels is looking for a chief exploring officer, who will spend three weeks testing out the experience at each of its branches throughout London, Dublin and Scotland.

The successful applicant will also be tasked with creating a ‘to do list’ around the nine hotels.

To apply, you must be over 18, be currently resident in the UK and have the right to work here.

According to the job application, Point A is particularly looking for:

  • ‘Undeniable explorer energy’ i.e. a get-up-and-goer who is loathed by pool-side holiday-makers
  • A proven track record of finding a city’s best hangout spots
  • An insatiable appetite for trying new foods
  • An influencer-like ability to Instagram every eye-catching moment of the trip

You’ll be able to bring a guest along with you too, but they won’t be paid.

Applications are open from Friday July 23 until Friday August 6 and the trip will then take place over three weeks from August 16, so you need to be free then.

To apply, you can submit a 60-second video on Instagram describing why you should get the job, with the hashtag #pointaceo, or you can email it to BeTheCEO@pointahotels.com.

The prize is the equivalent of one of the brand’s recently launched £900 A-List Explorer memberships, which offer 21-days of stays a month across all the hotels.

Nic Wenn, Managing Director of Point A Hotels, comments: ‘I can’t hide my disappointment not to have been internally considered for the new Chief Exploring Officer position. That said, I’m confident we’ll see a high calibre of applications.

‘We’re searching for someone who is passionate about living life to the fullest and enjoys sharing their experiences with the world. We promise a summer to remember, as we feel everyone is ready for some serious fun and inspiration right now.’
