You can stay in a treehouse for grownups only complete with a hot tub and flat screen tv

As kids there were few things that got us more excited than a treehouse.

But if you never really grew out of your treehouse love, this adults–only version in Yorkshire may be of interest to you.

The Treehouse was opened recently by Wolds Edge Holidays Lodges in Bishop Wilton, just 10 miles from York.

It offers a relaxing escape from the daily grind among the tree tops of the Yorkshire Wolds – with panoramic views out over the countryside.

And although it is very much a tree house, there’s plenty of luxury and home comforts including a king–size bed, kitchen facilities and even a hot tub on the deck.

Ruth Rowland, who set up the holiday lodges company with her family in 2011, said she hopes The Treehouse will offer people a tranquil escape from their hectic, busy lives.

She told Ladbible: “The idea evolved from a desire to share the beautiful, unspoilt Yorkshire Wolds and surrounding rural area with like-minded people who want to enjoy the outdoors and take time away from their busy lives.

“Our vision and enthusiasm has enabled us to lovingly transform a small rural field into a national award-winning collection of luxury self-catering accommodation: luxurious lodges, gold star glamping Snug Huts and now the opening of this unique Treehouse.

“It has been my passion since childhood to build a treehouse and I’m so excited see it completed – a dream come true.”

It sleeps two people – with prices starting at £459 for two nights.

But it is only available to people over 18.

So, it really is for big kids only.
