HOLIDAY experts have revealed how you could save hundreds of pounds if you wait just a couple of days to go on holiday for some winter sun.
You could save up to £1,000 per person if you travel after New Years Eve.

Ian Crawford of Holiday Hypermarket explained that Christmas is the peak period, making it much harder to find a bargain.
It is great news for anyone looking to get away in 2020 without spending too much money,.
He explained: “Christmas is a peak period for the travel industry and even breaks that depart on Christmas Day can be expensive, but if you can wait for a few more days prices drop considerably.
“With this tip, couples can save hundreds of pounds per person – often more than £1,000 for two travelling.”
Here are just some of the holidays you can book for a fraction of the cost if you travel a few days later.

Tenerife – save £1,000pp
A seven night holiday in Tenerife could be nearly £1,000 cheaper if you change your departure date.
For example, a holiday at the 4* Clubhotel Riu Buenavista will set you back £1,600 if travelling on December 29.
Book your flights on January 1 and prices drop to £614pp.
The island has temperatures of 20 degrees in the winter, making it an easy winter sun destination.
Gran Canaria – save £400pp
Head to the Canary Islands on January 1 and you could save over £400 each.
Stay at 4* resort Labranda Playa Bonita Hotel, when travelling from Glasgow, and it will set you back £1,105pp if departing on December 30.
Wait two days and the price drops by almost half, costing £677pp on January 2.

Cyprus – save £600pp
Cyprus is another perfect destination for some winter sun.
Departing just three days later could also see you saving over £600 per person.
A week at Louis Ledra Beach Hotel in Paphos costs £438pp when travelling on January 1 – the same break costs £1,087pp if you leave on December 28.
Egypt – save £300pp
A holiday to Egypt from London Gatwick could be much cheaper if you leave a few days into 2020.
A seven night trip to 4* Suneoclub Reef Resort is just £534pp when travelling on January 2.
If you choose to travel straight after Christmas on December 26, this costs £851pp.
Dubai – save £800pp
Dubai is popular with Brits wanting cheap holidays and guaranteed good weather.
A seven-night all-inclusive holiday at the Doubletree by Hilton costs £1,475pp on January 1.
Avoid travelling just a few days earlier – as prices are a staggering £2,277 on December 29.
Skyscanner also revealed its list of affordable destinations for winter holidays.
However, January is often the cheapest time to go away with savings up to £300 per week compared to August.
You can double your annual leave in 2020 by using just 28 days holiday to have 60 days off.
