You can now play 22 classic Namco video games on Microsoft’s Xbox One consoles – OnMSFT

Bandai Namco has just released 22 of Namco’s classic 8-bit video games on Xbox One as part of two separate bundle releases.

Namco Museum Archives Vol 1, contains Galaxian, Pac-Man, Xevious, Mappy, Dig Dug, The Tower of Druaga, Sky Kid, Dragon Buster, Dragon Spirit: The New Legend, Splatterhouse: Wanpaku Graffiti, and Pac-Man Championship Edition. Curiously, the Pac-Man Championship Edition is a special 8-Bit demastered version of the Xbox 360 title so it technically isn’t a re-release of a classic 8-bit game but more of a retrofied remake of it.

Namco Museum Archives Vol 2 contains Galaga, Battle City, Pac-Land, Dig Dug II, Super Xevious, Mappy-Land, Legacy of the Wizard, Rolling Thunder, Dragon Buster II, Mendel Palace, and Gaplus. Gaplus is an official sequel to Galaga and was release in arcade and on the Commodore 64 in 2984. The version included here is described as “consolized” which likely means that minor adjustments were made to make it more playable on modern consoles.
