You can apply for Love Island through Tinder to get on the 'priority list'

ITV has officially announced Love Island will be returning to our screens later this year – and the iconic dating show is looking for new contestants.

The show is looking for new singletons to spend time in the Love Island villa while searching for love.

Have you got what it takes to be an Islander? ITV2 is looking for “vibrant singles” from across the UK who are searching for love.

You can of course apply as usual through the ITV website.

But this year, for the first time ever, Love Island is teaming up with the world’s most popular dating app Tinder.

From today, March 22, singleton’s can apply through Tinder by making just one Swipe Right in the app – which means their profile will be the first audition.

The most exciting this is that if selected, they will be added to a Priority List – which means they are guaranteed to be seen by the casting team.

The Love Island Swipe Cards will appear in between Tinder members’ stack of potential matches.

When you spot it all you have to do is Swipe Right – and their official Tinder profile will be submitted for review and verification.

If your profile is selected, you’ll be contacted via email by Tinder. They will ask for confirmation details, which you need to complete and return.

The Tinder user will then be added to the priority list for the Love Island casting team.

So if you want to be in with a chance of appearing on Love Island, you will want your Tinder profile to be ready and looking as good as it can be.

Luckily, Tinder and Love Island have shared their top five tips to get your profile noticed:

1. Trust in your sauce

When you apply you should just be authentic – show off your unique personality by creating a bio that gives the casting team an insight into the real you.

2. It’s all about you

When uploading pictures, think about using pictures that best represent you.

Tinder and Love Island recommend ditching the group sots and go solo in front of the camera.

3. Good vibes

The team recommend you show off what you like to do in your spare time.

Share your hobbies and interests, what you listen to and share information about you – the more the better.

4. Lay it on Factor 50

They generally mean the more the better. The more information you share the more likely you are to get noticed.

Make sure you select your “passions” in your Tinder profile.

5. Seriously single

They genuinely want to find people who have been looking for love on Tinder.

So if you haven’t been active, get on it!
