Yolanda Hadid has shared a heartfelt message to her ‘guardian angel Mama’ after her mother passed away aged 78 following a battle with cancer.
Ans van den Herik, who was also grandmother to Anwar, Bella and Gigi Hadid, had raised Yolanda and her brother after their father was killed in a car accident when Yolanda was just seven years old.
She wrote: ‘RIP my guardian angel Mama, thank you for loving me the way the way that you did and for making me the woman that I am today.
‘On angel wings you were taken away, but in my heart you will always stay….. I can not imagine this life without you but I pray that I will hear you whisper in the tallest trees and feel your love in the gentle breeze…
‘When I miss you the most, our beautiful memories will hold you close… Our Love is eternal and you will always be with me and I will always be with you beyond the bounds of this realm.
‘Rest In Peace my beautiful mama, I will honor you for the rest of my days….. Until we meet again, I LOVE YOU, Yolanda.’
Yolanda shares a series of black and white photos of her mother in her native Netherlands when she was young, with the first seemingly in her 20s or 30s as she leaned against a motorbike, showcasing where Gigi and Bella get their impeccable sense of fashion in a stylish checked coat.
She also shared photos of Ans with family pets when she was younger and pictures of her as a baby and toddler.
Bella Hadid also took to Instagram to share a tribute to her grandmother, posting ‘I wish I could hug you right now’ alongside a photo of her with Ans, as well as a picture of her nan reading to her and Gigi when they were younger.
