Yara Shahidi rocked kiss curls, and now we want kiss curls

As London and Milan Fashion Week have drawn to a close, we have been blessed with a hefty dose of style inspiration and trends to last us a lifetime. The last two weeks have seen an influx of innovative trends and unique ensembles sweeping across both cities, in addition to the emergence of young talent and creatives. From trouser suits to pastel tones and tropical prints to trench coats, the two cities have really raised the bar. Not only are the models serving looks at every given point, but the guests too.

Fashion Week has always been an extremely exciting time for the industry, so this comes as no surprise and we had no doubt that everyone would bring their A-game. London Fashion week saw the likes of Billy Porter, Eve, Jourdan Dunn and Jessie Ware. Milan Fashion Week was quick behind and front rows were filled with celebrity names such as Dylan Sprouse, Halima Aden and Yara Shahidi, who most certainly did not disappoint.

The actress, model, activist, and general pioneer for Gen Z at just *20* years old, not only knows a thing or two about politics but regularly switches up her wardrobe to remind us that she is one of many talents and style is one of them. The star recently showcased a bold and snazzy new edge look, courtesy of the Jason Bolden style team. This was accompanied by flawless kiss curls, laid to perfection by Rio Sreedharan.

The look appeared to be in preparation for the Gucci The Ritual, Gucci’s Fall Winter 2020 women’s fashion show by Alessandro Michele in Milan. Although we can all agree that Yara practically invented the kiss curl, the hairstyle has been around for some time and was regularly rocked by the likes of Diana Ross and Josephine Baker.

The kiss curl (also formerly known as spit curl) has been slowly making a comeback and we are in love. See below for more kiss curl inspiration…
