X Factor winners Rak-Su have been dropped by record label RCA two years after winning the show, according to reports.

The four-piece group from Watford won the ITV singing competition back in 2017, becoming the first boy band to win the show after beating runner-up Grace Davies.

The band, comprised of Myles Stephenson, Ashley Fongho, Jamaal Shurland and Mustafa Rahimtulla, have yet to release a full-length debut album – but it’s believed they’ve now been dropped by their label.

Speaking to The Sun, a music insider said: ‘It’s a tough time to be in pop and the buzz for Rak-Su fizzled out fast.

‘They haven’t delivered the huge chart singles which bosses were convinced they would, despite being so popular on the show. The feeling is that their moment has passed and it’s going to be tough to revive it.’

It’s claimed Rak-Su are planning to continue as a band and are searching for a new record deal.

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Rak-Su for comment.

Since winning the show, the band released two EPs and four singles, with their winners single Dimelo, featuring Naughty Boy and Wyclef Jean, entering the chart at number two behind Ed Sheeran’s Perfect.

Their following singles have failed to set the chart alight, with track I Want You To Freak in 2018 landing at number 39 on the official chart.

The group faced trouble last year when they parted ways with old record label Syco following a dispute with their management company Modest, resulting in a move to new team RCA.
