X Factor winners Rak-Su dropped by record label after chart slump

X Factor 2017 winners Rak-Su have found out the hard way winning The X Factor isn’t a fast-track to chart success.

The foursome had been tipped for great things after beating Grace Davies to win the ITV show.

However, after a series of chart fails Rak-Su have been dropped by their record label.

The decision by music big-wigs came before the lads even released an album.

An insider told The Sun: “It’s a tough time to be in pop and the buzz for Rak-Su fizzled out fast.

“They haven’t delivered the huge chart singles which bosses were convinced they would.

“The feeling is that their moment has passed and it’s going to be tough to revive it.”

Last year Rak-Su were forced to ditch Simon Cowell’s label Syco and move to RCA after a row erupted between Syco and their management company Modest.

Previously speaking to Daily Star Online, Rak-Su confirmed it wasn’t their decision to part ways with Simon Cowell and his record label.

Ashley Fongho said: “To be completely honest with you, it is not something we can speak on as it actually had nothing to do with us.

“It was weird…It had nothing to do with us but a situation arose and the easiest solution for everybody was for us to move internally.”

Strongly hinting he was left bitter after music execs took control of the band’s direction, the singer continued: “I wish I had known that you are always going to be happiest doing it exactly how you want to.

“If you make decisions based on what you want personally and don’t factor in any other people’s opinions or what any other people tell you is right.

“Whether it goes well or badly you will be able to live with it as it came from you.

“If you factor in other people’s advice and it doesn’t go to plan you will have resentment and you will regret it.”

A rep for RCA has been contacted by Daily Star Online for comment.
