X Factor star transitioning from male to female after falling into dark depression


The star, who appeared on The X Factor in 2016 as part of kooky double act Bratavio.

Now she will undergo treatment to reassign her gender aafter hiding her true identity left her deeply depressed.

Speaking frankly about the brave decision, Ottavio – who has changed her name to Octavia – said: “I thought to myself, ‘If I can’t be true to my gender identity then I don’t want to be alive.’

“Many nights I would cry myself to sleep, my pillow would be soaked with tears.”

The singer added to The Sun: “I watched the first season of TOWIE and remember thinking, ‘I want to be like those glamorous girls and have the boobs and lips.’

“When my mum had my sister I became envious of her because she had biologically what I wanted.”

Octavia will now undergo treatment privately on Harley Street after discovering the NHS waiting list for gender reassessment is two years.

The treatment will set her back thousands of pounds and involve testosterone blockers and hormone replacement therapy.

X Factor is set to kick off later this year after en epic revamp.

Simon Cowell has confirmed two shorter series will air on ITV this year, an All Stars edition and a celebrity version.

Daily Star Online recently revealed that hard-man Vinnie Jones is all but signed up to take part.

EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa is also thought to be on the cusp of signing on the dotted line.
