X Factor: Celebrity bosses have decided to bring back the infamous sing-off when the show returns for a third episode tonight.
In another twist to the show, the two acts who receive the lowest votes will battle it out for survival.
Judges will then be asked to vote on who they want to save.
A source said: “Simon and the ITV team have been working around the clock to make the show a success.
“After a rocky start it feels like things are finally coming together.
“They have decided to bring back the sing off this week.”
Daily Star Online understands that as a result there will be no guest performer this week.
The decision comes after X Factor: Celebrity was at the centre of controversy once more.
In a move which angered many fans, Simon Cowell refused to send home either Jonny Labey and Martin Bashir.
Instead, he brought back deadlock and ordered Dermot O’Leary to refer to the public vote.
As a result, soap actor Jonny was given his marching orders.
Last week The Daily Star revealed how Simon had fired multiple staff after failing to impress critics with the first X Factor: Celebrity live show.
A source told The Daily Star: “It’s not uncommon for creative teams to change throughout a series run.
“And that means making tough decisions.”
