WWE’s Bella Twins thought Hall of Fame call was Vince McMahon telling them off

Speaking on WWE Backstage, Brie teased: ‘When Nikki and I first got the call, it’s actually really funny because Vince called us both, I saw his missed call – and my first reaction actually was, “Nikki, what did you say in the press?” ‘

Her sibling admitted even she wasn’t sure, adding: ‘I had to think, “What did I do wrong?!” ‘

While the twins, both 36, thought they were going to get told off, they were ‘shocked’ and ‘overwhelmed’ when WWE’s boss man explained he wanted to induct the duo into the company’s Hall of Fame.

‘We did, we thought we were in trouble,’ Brie said. ‘And then we called Vince back together, and when he told us we were just shocked. “Wait, what?! This year?!” And then right after, we were overwhelmed with such gratitude.’

Nikki even teased Vince’s soft side as she explained how much it meant to have Mr. McMahon’s support as he paid tribute to their legacy.

‘Just so many emotions,’ she smiled. ‘I think too, when you’ve worked hard for so long and have fought for so many things, and have the one man that you look up to so much – but also gave you an incredible opportunity.

‘To have him call, Vince said the sweetest thing – it was like, “Oh my gosh!” ‘

The Bellas will be inducted as part of the Class of 2020, which so far includes the likes of Dave Bautista and nWo members Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman.
