WWE 2K20: Three champions MISSING from new game

Every year the WWE 2K roster seems to expand. This year it is up to 238 characters, with multiple versions of the Four Horsewomen to fill the Showcase mode, Legends, and stars from across Raw, SmackDown, 205 Live, NXT, and NXT UK.

However, the roster is far from complete, and perhaps worst of all there are some current champions that are not on the game at all. Who are they? And will we see them come into 2K20?

Lio Rush, Cruiserweight Champion

Lio Rush has had a complicated time with WWE, but his talent is undisputed. He joined in August 2017 and has acted as a mouthpiece for Bobby Lashley as well as showing off his athletic traits in the ring.

In early October he captured the Cruiserweight Championship from Drew Gulak, but despite that he hasn’t been included in the 2K20 roster.

This comes a big surprise since Rush, along with Ricochet, Lacey Evans, and others, was part of a “Rising Stars” DLC last year, all of whom are included as standard in this years game.

Walter, NXT UK Champion

Der ringgeneral has been chopping down opponents across Europe and the USA for a while now. His name doesn’t instill much fear, until you see him in action and then you understand. Nothing echoes quite as loudly as a Walter chop, or leaves a mark quite as deep. Walter ended Pete Dunne’s massive 685 day title reign at NXT TakeOver: New York in April and has posted multiple 5-star matches, including a 5.25-rated NXT UK title defense at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff against Tyler Bate, who is in the game this year.

Walter’s absence is a big blow to WWE’s European fans, who have long wanted to see Walter chop down some of WWE’s most notable names, and nothing works for wrestling fans wish fulfilment quite like WWE 2K games.

Kay Lee Ray, NXT UK Women’s Champion

Kay Lee Ray has been involved with WWE off and on since 2015. She debuted in October 2015 in a losing effort against Nia Jax, and was then selected in the 2017 Mae Young Classic. In 2019 she signed with WWE and at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff in August she defeated Toni Storm to claim the UK Women’s title.

Both Toni Storm and previous champion Rhea Ripley are both in WWE 2K20 with solid ratings, so it shouldn’t have been too much to put this current champion in a relatively underpopulated women’s roster.

Will we see these three added to WWE 2K20 soon? We can only hope so. The lack of Walter is particularly frustrating due to his world class in-ring ability, but given 2K’s usual raft of DLC throughout the year fans should still be hopeful that all three of these champions will be in the game sooner rather than later.
