McDonald’s has announced the long awaited return of lunchtime staples, Crispy Sweet Chilli Chicken and Crispy BBQ & Bacon Wraps – from 29 July.

Customers will also be able to get one flavour of wraps for £1.99 every day of the week through the Wrap of the Day deal.

The announcement comes ahead of the start the Government’s Eat Out To Help Out campaign, offering customers 50% of their food and drink bill, up to £10 per person, when dining in restaurants across the UK on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3-31 August.

Whilst McDonald’s is still offering a limited menu due to social distancing measures, many will be delighted with the return of the Wraps.

The even better news is that they will only cost £1 – when using the Wrap of the Day deal during the Eat Out To Help Out campaign.

With the return of Wraps to the menu, and the new government initiative, customers will now be able to get the Wrap of the Day deal for £1 when dining in restaurants Monday-Wednesday in August.

‘Over the last few weeks, we’ve been testing which menu items we can reintroduce whilst enabling our restaurant teams to work safely,’ says Michelle Graham-Clare, Vice President food and marketing.

‘We’ve heard loud and clear on social media that customers are missing the Big Flavour Wraps range, so we’re delighted to be bringing back the two most popular flavours this week, alongside our side salad.

‘The Wrap of the Day promotion offers customers a great tasting lunch at an even better price, and with the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme, this offer gets even tastier.’

Alongside the return of the two wraps, the restaurant company is also bringing back side salads, which you can choose to accompany your meal instead of fries.

Nutrition information has been available in all restaurants since the 1980s, and more recently, the My McDonald’s App has introduced the nutrition calculator, updating to show the calorie content of a customer’s meal as they build it and customise it within the App.

From 27 July, 144 more restaurants in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland opened for dine in, with the rest opening in time for the launch of the Eat Out To Help Out campaign.
