World War Three levels notched a level higher today after worsening tensions between Iran and the USA. The bad feeling rocketed following a serious threat from the Islamic Republic’s Foreign Minister. Mohammad Javad Zarif told of his belief the US’ influence would “go away” if countries around the world would ditch the US dollar as the basis for their international trade. The stark warning prompted renewed fears of nuclear conflict between the states, particularly as the US recently withdrew from the 2015 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF).
Yet some small offer of comfort to quash may have appeared, thanks to the Global Peace Index.
Those Britons fearing impending conflict could free to one particular country, deemed the “most peaceful” of them all.
This has been judged, according to results from the 2018 Global Peace Index, to be Iceland.
The Nordic country is geographically faraway from both Iran and the US, which bodes well for a secluded hiding place.
The FOC website states around 323,000 British nationals visited Iceland through Keflavik airport in 2017.
It advised Britons wanting to re-locate ahead of potential world War Three should follow particular guidelines.
It stated: “You must register with Registers Iceland and apply for a national identification number (kennitala).
“You’ll need your identification number to access services in Iceland.
“UK nationals living in Iceland must register their domicile with Registers Iceland before the UK leaves the EU in order to be guaranteed a continuous right to reside in Iceland after the UK leaves the EU.”
“Once you’re resident in Iceland for 6 months, you automatically become a member of the Iceland social insurance system.”
Meanwhile, New Zealand, Austria, Portugal and Denmark also featured on the list, meaning they could well offer further options.

Meanwhile, Mr Zariff’s worrying quotes come after he accused the US of instituting “economic terrorism” on the Islamic Republic.
Speaking last week, Mr Zarif said: “Economic Terrorism against Iran targets innocent civilians.
“This is Donald Trump’s ‘economic war’.”
