Wonder Woman has reunited with love interest Steve Trevor in the new trailer for upcoming release, 1984… and we already want to buy our tickets.

Starring Gal Gadot, the second solo film in the Wonder Woman franchise features the return of Chris Pine, as well as newcomer Kristen Wiig.

Spoiler alert!

At the end of Wonder Woman (2017) – which is actually set in 1918 – Steve saved the world from certain doom by sacrificing his own life.

But now it looks like he’s somehow managed to reunite with his former flame in the 80s.

The film’s synopsis offered some more clues and explained Wonder Woman faces off with two new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah.

All we know is we’re absolutely gagging to see a geeky 1980s Kristen Wiig team up with the Amazonian warrior.

The official Twitter account for Wonder Woman posted the trailer to social media and the reaction to it was swift.

They wrote in the tweet: ‘A new era of wonder begins.’

Less than two hours after they posted the trailer, it had been liked more than 80,000 times and retweeted half of that.

One fan praised the new trailer: ‘I’ve watched this trailer 5 times in the past hour already! It is so good. Love the title graphics and music!’

While another raved: ‘Nothing but respect for my Wonder Woman.’

Then one fan asked how Steve came back from the dead: ‘It looks great, but c’mon. Steve is back? How? That means I don’t have to worry about anyone’s life in this movie ’cause if we like ’em they’ll be back anyway. Kind of diminishes the amount of drama and suspense that’s possible.’

Looks like we’ll just have to wait and see.

Wonder Woman hits cinemas on 5 June 2020.
