Patty Jenkins is planning on making a third Wonder Woman film.

The director isn’t done with the heroine, played by Gal Gadot, just yet and wants to use a third movie to explore some ‘final things’ with the character.

The 48-year-old shared with SciFiNow: ‘Wonder Woman 3 oh wow! I’m trying to make myself not think about that because every movie has to be taken on its own but there’s definitely final things for me that I haven’t got to explore with Wonder Woman that we’ll have to see if we can go and explore.’

She added that she felt people were ‘waiting for her to fail’ because of the expectations placed on the first movie.

Patty went on: ‘Every movie is its own struggle to touch people and make a difference.

‘Wonder Woman surprised a lot of people so [with the sequel] you’re walking into a situation where they’re waiting for you to fail more than ever.

‘So it’s no different because making the first movie was the same in that everybody went, “Wonder Woman, come on, no you can’t.”

‘There’s a history of these movies tanking and so it was a lot of pressure to be the person to take on trying to bring that movie to life.’

Wonder Woman 1984 jumps forward in time from 1918 to the 80s, and sees the superhero reunite with her love interest Steve (Chris Pine).

You’ll have to see the movie to find out how exactly this comes about.

The sequel has been pushed back to August as the coronavirus crisis continues to upend the film industry.

Patty said of the release date change: ‘We made Wonder Woman 1984 for the big screen and I believe in the power of cinema.

‘In these terrible times, when theater owners are struggling as so many are, we are excited to re-date our film to August 14th 2020 in a theater near you, and pray for better times for all by then.’
