Charlotte Walsh spotted a Black Smock Sweater Dress on a model on the PrettyLittleThing website and decided to spend the £22 to have something to wear for a new job.
The 25-year-old noticed the website said the model was wearing a size 8 and as the same size, she expected that she’d have the same slightly loose look.
But when the dress arrived, she was shocked when it was twice the width of her body and made her look like a ‘sack of potatoes’.
Charlotte, from Keighley, West Yorkshire, posted the images of the dress on the model and the one she received online and joked it was ‘online vs reality’
Hilariously she took photographs of herself trying on the oversized dress –
which shows she could fit another person inside too.
One image shows Charlotte wearing the dress with her arms out so you can see the sheer amount of excess material the dress has.
Another shows her with the dress folded in half and held up against her body.
Charlotte tagged Pretty Little Thing into the images captioned: ‘Online vs reality. Both wearing a size 8’ alongside laughing emojis.
She said: ‘It was meant to be an outfit for a new job I start on Monday.
‘Usually, I have no issues however there were a few more dresses I bought which were also bad but not as bad as that.
‘My friend joked that this weekend we would all look beautiful in it together.
‘Of course I sent it back, I wasn’t going for the sack of potatoes look.’
She checked the label and the tag but says it was definitely marked as a size.
Other people on Twitter loved her post and said they couldn’t help but laugh.
