Woman’s foot chopped off by train after falling onto tracks

A woman was filmed attempting to get onto a moving train at a railway station in Russia when she fell the train went over her foot.

The woman, 35, – who has not been named – had her foot amputated in the accident, local media said.

The incident was filmed at Kavkazskaya railway station in the city of Kropotkin in the south-western Russian region of Krasnodar Krai earlier this week.

Footage begins with a train pulling into the station and the woman, alongside another person, is seen running up to it.

Both people, the woman and a man, try to jump onto the train using one of its open doorways.

But as the carriage is still moving, the woman loses her footing and falls onto the track.

The CCTV captures her rolling underneath the train, with one of her legs being crushed as it passes.

Authorities are now investigating the incident, the country’s department for transport said.

A number of witnesses have given evidence to investigators, authorities told local media.
