In a video she uploaded to social media, a Transport Security Administration (TSA) agent is seen removing the bags of crisps from her holdall.

She also rubs them to be tested for any chemicals and explosive compounds.

The video shows at least seven bags already tested, while the TSA agent continues to put them to one side.

Emily wrote: “Will never forget the day TSA stopped me cuz they thought I was hiding s**t inside my bag cuz all I had was like 20 bags of Hot Cheetos.”

The tweet has been liked over 76,000 times since it was posted.

Social media users were confused by why she had so many bags with her while travelling.

She added: “For everyone who’s asking why I had so many bags of Hot Cheetos, apparently it’s hard to get in Korea so my friends always ask me to bring it for them LOL.”

Others shared their own story of being stopped for food at the airport.

Sophie Demajo wrote: “Same, but for 6kg of chocolate spread over multiple bags.”

Erin Knox said: “One time I saw a guys luggage get emptied out at security and there was literally an entire suitcase full of packaged uncooked bacon.”

Someone else added: “I had 10 sandwiches (for my family to eat at the airport) and they opened and looked inside EACH sandwich.”

Even TSA agents are affected, with one person commenting: “My wife is a supervisor for TSA and they did the same to us when we came back from Disney and she had TWENTY-FIVE bags of their granola mix.”

According to the TSA website, food is allowed through but could be subject to further checks: “Even if an item is generally permitted, it may be subject to additional screening or not allowed through the checkpoint if it triggers an alarm during the screening process.”

The most commonly confiscated food in the UK is Marmite, according to London City Airport.

A woman was left furious after five days worth of breast milk was confiscated at Heathrow Airport.

Thankfully there is now a service at UK airports which lets you send anything you aren’t allowed to take through security.
