Woman shares clever hack to make milk last much longer during lockdown

With the vast majority of people staying home due to the coronavirus lockdown in the UK, many might find themselves making more cups of tea or coffee each day than they usually would.

This will quickly cause your milk supply to diminish and you’ll find yourself needing to go out to the shops more often than is really necessary.

But it turns out there is a very simple way to make your milk last longer during this time – and we have a woman named Danielle Chapman to thank for sharing it.

Danielle took to Facebook to tell everyone about the hack she uses to prevent milk waste or to make her bottle of milk go further.

And all you need to try the trick for yourself is an ice cube tray or ice cube bag.

Danielle revealed that the thing to do is pour milk into the tray/bag and pop it in the freezer.

So you simply defrost an individual cube or two at a time, depending on what you need.

She explained: “Freeze milk in ice cube trays, one is enough for a cup of tea or coffee – so they don’t have to defrost a full bottle of milk which may go to waste.

“This can save them money as well as not have to go out so often to get fresh milk.”

Her post quickly went viral, garnering more than 40,000 shares and over 1,500 likes.

The top tip was quickly branded “really clever”.

Milk can be frozen and kept in the freezer for up to six months, but experts recommend using it within one month if you can.

You can freeze it in ice cube trays, or put the whole bottle in the freezer if you’d prefer.
