Woman refused to be 'exclusive' with partner until he proposed to her

It’s no secret that relationships can be complicated.

As individuals, we are pretty complex already, but when you add in the variables and unreliability of another person, it can lead to disaster.

But one woman found a rather unique way to make her love life a little easier and remove all the drama.

Instead of getting into a relationship that would end in heartbreak, Sami Wunder decided not to become exclusive with any man until they decided they wanted to marry her.

She was ‘rotational dating’ and meeting several men

Writing in an article for HuffPost UK, Sami explained how several years ago she started dating Chris.

Two months later, he asked if they could become an official couple.

He was shocked when she said no.

“I remember his face turning pale when I told him that while I felt flattered by his offer, I did not want to be any man’s girlfriend.” she said.

“In my mind, boyfriend-girlfriend was an excellent arrangement for teenagers, but not for me – I wanted to commit to a man who saw me as his forever woman.

“I was determined not to let any man ‘test drive’ me.”

While not happy about her choice, Chris respected it and continued dating her, as she went on coffee and cinema dates with other men.

Sami refers to the method as ‘rotational dating’ and says it’s a great way to “filter” out a man who will “outlast the wrong ones”.

And it seems to have worked well for them, as a few months later, Chris popped the question.

The pair have now been married for seven years and have started a family together.

Sami adds: “We often laugh about how hard it was for Chris to date a woman like me. He says I inspired him to dig deeper into his heart to consider whether I was the right person for him.

“For me, it was empowering to stick to what I wanted, to be able to articulate it, to draw boundaries, and for once care about what made me happy instead of a man.

“Until a man is willing to give you his heart, why should he deserve yours?”
