Wolves vs Liverpool LIVE: Team news, line-ups and more ahead of Premier League fixture tonight

Follow all the action live as Liverpool look to end their unbeaten run in a tricky fixture at Wolves.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have dropped just two points in the Premier League all season and are riding the momentum of their recent victory over Manchester United.

Their status as champions-elect is a virtual certainty, however, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will provide a stern test. Wolves sit in sixth, hunting down a place in the top four, and already boast a victory at home over Manchester City this season. Follow all the action live below:

I have a really sneaky feeling that tonight’s game could be an absolute belter.

Wolves know how to play really good football and aren’t shy against the big teams.

Feel free to return to this in a couple of hours after we sit through a 0-0 with maybe one shot on target…

Wolves ready to be first team to beat Liverpool

Liverpool remain unbeaten this season and 13 points clear of Manchester City with two games in hand.

Wolves have taken points off City, Leicester, Manchester United and Arsenal this season as they look to become the first team to beat Jurgen Klopp’s side this term.

Nuno Espirito Santo said: “What we’ll do is prepare ourselves well and play the game. Our fans will be behind us, it’ll be a fantastic atmosphere, so we have to enjoy the game.

“We have to compete. That is the word – compete. When you compete, you don’t give up. Every ball is important.

“They’re very good and do things very well. It’s a very good, fantastic team.

“Liverpool are a huge club and a good team.”

Klopp delighted with Alisson’s ability and personality

Klopp has been delighted with how the £65million signing has developed since arriving in the summer of 2018.

“As a goalkeeper we knew what we would get. Yes he made steps, which is normal. As a person he has exceeded the expectation, he is an outstanding guy,” said the manager.

“We have a lot of really good guys but he is a very special person and that’s great from that point of view.

“His character, how calm he is, helps us a lot. His goalkeeper techniques improve and improve, making difficult things look easy but he has to stay like this.

“As a goalkeeper you make a mistake and the ball is in the goal, that is the life of a goalkeeper.

“I know Ali doesn’t take it for granted so I don’t take it for granted. A fantastic boy and a fantastic goalkeeper.”

Before we get stuck into team news, here’s Melissa Reddy, who’ll be covering tonight’s match, with a feature piece on Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson:

Welcome to The Independent’s live coverage as champions-elect Liverpool travel to Molineux to take on Wolves.

Please allow a moment for the blog to load.

What time is the match?

The match will kick off at 8pm at Molineux.

Where can I watch it?

The match will be broadcast live on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport Ultimate.

Subscribers can also watch the game online via the BT Sport website.

What’s the team news?

Ruben Vinagre will miss out with a hamstring problem but Diogo Jota and Willy Boly could both be involved in some part after time on the sidelines.

Naby Keita, James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri are all long-term absentees for Liverpool while the game will likely come too soon for Dejan Lovren, despite the Croatian defender returning to training this week.

Predicted line-ups

Wolves: Patricio, Doherty, Saiss, Coady, Dendoncker, Jonny, Moutinho, Neves, Neto, Jimenez, Traore

Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Mane

Prediction

There may be few tougher tests of Liverpool’s unbeaten record than at Molineux with the home side already seeing off Manchester City on their own patch this term. That said, the Reds remain irresistible and while it will prove trickier than the win over United they should again taste victory here. Wolves 0-1 Liverpool
