Wolves sign Italian starlet Patrick Cutrone from AC Milan on a four-year deal

Wolves have announced the arrival of Italy striker Patrick Cutrone from AC Milan on a four-year deal.

The signing of Cutrone, reportedly in the region of £16million, is the club’s second deal of the summer following last week’s capture of Jesus Vallejo from Real Madrid.

Cutrone told Wolves’ official website: “I’m very pleased to be here because the club really wanted me. To play in the Premier League for Wolves is fantastic.”

Wolves sporting director Kevin Thelwell added that signing the 21-year-old Italy international perfectly suits the club’s philosophy. “Patrick is an exciting signing at a very exciting period for this football club,” he said.

“We have a strong philosophy under the leadership of Nuno of bringing in the right type of people and developing young talent while staying humble and grounded as individuals, and we feel Patrick perfectly fits into our philosophy.

“We are very pleased to have a player of Patrick’s ability join the club and look forward to him being a part of Nuno’s squad in another historic season for Wolves.”

Cutrone made 43 appearances in all competitions for AC Milan last season, scoring nine goals.

He made his debut for the Italian national team in March 2018, appearing in a 2-0 friendly defeat by Argentina.
